Susan Cawley
Chair of Trustees

My name is Susan Cawley and I have lived in Southall for most of my life. I went to school locally and remember when the the church of St Anselm's moved to its present site in the late 60's.

I became fully aware of HSSH and its work when I began working in the Parish. What impressed me the most was the dedication of the staff and trustees, working alongside the street homeless in Southall.

Their hard work is aimed at giving hope and restoring dignity to a group of people who have lost sight of them.

It is a privilege to work with them.

Francisco D'Souza
Trustee/ Treasurer

My name is Francisco D'Souza and I have served as a trustee with Hope for Southall Street Homeless for the last few years.

I decided to do this, so that I might put my gifts and talents to good use, supporting this local charity to work alongside the street homeless in Southall.

The charity helps them to meet the challenges which each one faces, on a daily basis.

It works tirelessly to improve the welfare of each guest.

Rev. Michael Bolley

I have been the Vicar of Holy Trinity Church in Southall since 1999 and was the inaugural Chair of Trustees of Hope for Southall Street Homeless when we first opened the doors of the night shelter in 2016, and also served for a period as Hon Treasurer.

I believe that every person is precious in the eyes of God and that we are called to show God's love in practical ways, especially to those in greatest need.

The people who find themselves homeless on the streets of Southall need help just to survive: HSSH seeks to go beyond this, first of all showing that someone cares and then walking with people, offering advice and support so that they can begin to rebuild their lives towards a brighter future. It is a privilege to be part of this shared endeavour.

Alma Patterson

My name is Alma Patterson and I became a Trustee of HSSH after I began working with the HSSH support worker, based in my parish, St John's, here in Southall.

Her commitment and dedication to helping vulnerable people who often have no help or support just blew me away.

Working with her gave me an insight into the complexities of homelessness.

Becoming a Trustee was my way of trying to help and support HSSH.

Navraj Singh

My name is Navraj Singh, I have been involved in the Southall Gurdwara since 1992 and enjoy every minute of this wonderful community.

I am the Joint General Secretary of the largest Sikh Gurdwara outside of India- Sri Guru Singh Sabha Southall.

I am the Chair of Southall Faiths Forum, and also one of the founding trustees of Hope for Southall Street Homeless.

I am a father to 3 children (now adults🙂) and a Grandfather to a wonderful granddaughter. I love all kinds of sports from Football to Cricket, F1 Racing and Rugby.

To help others less fortunate is a duty of all the fortunate.

John Coleby

My name is John Coleby and I am a third sector executive director with 25 years of leadership and management experience in the private, public and voluntary sectors.

I also have an excellent track record in managing change, developing strategy, fundraising, motivating staff and developing social & care services.

My background in social services and the probation services has been beneficial in supporting the work of HSSH, working alongside our guests, with the aim of

"...transforming lives and restoring hope"
